🆕The Albera mountain range is the easternmost section of the Pyrenees, from the Portús pass to the sea. This massif separates the great plains of Empordà and Roussillon, and since 1659, the year the Treaty of the Pyrenees was signed, its crest has constituted the Franco-Spanish border.
🆕The ground floor of the Can Laporta Cultural Centre houses the Albera Interpretation Centre, which has a permanent exhibition on the natural, cultural and intangible heritage of this unique territory.
🆕Apart from the exhibition, the building itself is of interest, as it contains an old mill, a trull and old wine barrels that illustrate how the Catalan farmhouse worked.
🆕Ask at reception for information about all the routes you can take in Albera, as well as guided tours of Requesens Castle.
